Begin Again -
A Rule of Life for the First Breath of the Week - Cook. Serve. Pray. Begin.
Mondays used to feel like punishment.
The alarm would scream, and I’d roll out of bed already in fight mode—bracing for impact. The inbox was already full. The fridge already empty. My spirit? Usually somewhere between burnout and apathy.
But something shifted when I stepped into the rhythm of Cook Serve Pray.
I stopped letting the world dictate my week—and started letting the Kingdom shape it.
Now, Monday isn’t the grind. It’s the ground floor of something sacred.
A fresh page. A new breath. Another chance to live with rhythm, not rush.
📖 “Let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.” – Ephesians 4:23–24 (NLT)
Start with Stillness.
Before the noise hits. Before the phone pings. Before the world tries to name you—
return to who you really are.
You’re not your inbox. You’re not your income.
You’re not the sum of your productivity.
You are beloved and called to live on purpose—this week, today, right now.
Reflect:
What are you carrying into this week that God never asked you to hold?
What old mindset do you need to take off—and what truth do you need to put on?
Who are you becoming in the small, sacred moments of Monday?
Urban Monastic Tip:
Make Monday your altar, not your enemy.
📌 Light a candle at breakfast.
📌 Pray while you chop veg or pack lunches.
📌 Put a Psalm in your pocket.
📌 Bless your workspace—yes, even the Zoom room.
📌 Start your week grounded, not grinding.
Prayer for Monday:
Father,
Thank You for this new beginning.
Renew my thoughts, reshape my attitude, and remind me that I am Yours.
Today, I choose presence over pressure.
Let my work be worship, my breath be prayer, and my table be Your altar.
Amen.
Quote for the Day:
“You don’t have to hustle to have worth. You just have to show up rooted.”
