It Is in Giving That We Receive

In a world obsessed with accumulating more, more stuff, more followers, more achievements, there’s a radical truth we often overlook: "It is in giving that we receive."

The world tells us to take, to hold onto what we’ve earned, and to build our own empire. But Jesus’ way isn’t about stacking up what we can hoard; it’s about pouring out. When He walked the earth, He didn’t gather possessions. Instead, He gave. He gave His time, His love, His forgiveness, and His life. And in that giving, He showed us that the real treasure comes not in what we hold on to but in what we give away.

Here’s a verse that flips the script:

“Give away your life; you’ll find life given back, but not merely given back—given back with bonus and blessing. Giving, not getting, is the way. Generosity begets generosity.” —Luke 6:38 (The Message)

Did you catch that? The world says "take more," but Jesus says, “Give away your life”—and watch what happens. The life you give away isn’t just replaced; it’s multiplied with bonus and blessing. Generosity creates an overflow that you can’t even measure.

This isn’t about flashy donations or viral moments. It’s about the small, daily choices. It’s the kind word to someone who’s struggling, the time you volunteer, the meal you share, the forgiveness you offer. The world needs people like you, people who know that the more you pour out, the more you’re filled. It’s in the giving that you find your true purpose.

This is your invitation to change the game. Don’t wait for the perfect moment, create it. Start simple: give your time, your energy, your attention. Watch how your life shifts when you make generosity your default.
